Postmortem

This morning, the migration of VPS Hypervisors (Group U3) took longer than we had planned to complete.

For a small subset of servers, it took an additional 2 hours, and one server took 3 due to an unexpected hardware failure.

A deep investigation and review has been conducted today, involving the project team and management staff. We have identified a process issue and have implemented changes to ensure that the same issue will not happen again in any datacentre migrations we perform.

We are sorry for any inconvenience caused and thank you for your patience while our team worked tirelessly to complete the migration and bring servers online. Servers migrated today are expected to remain in the new state-of-the-art Equinix SY5 Data Centre facility for the long-term.

We are working with top priority on the last hypervisor and will provide an update in the next 30 minutes.

As part of our ongoing commitment to ensure all of our services are operating and maintained to our standards, Digital Pacific will be migrating your services to the new, state of the art Equinix SY5 Data Centre.

This migration will commence at 03:45am AEST and is estimated to take up to 4 hours to complete.

Our teams always endeavour to minimise disruption to our customers. We do anticipate that your service will be offline for up to 4 hours during the maintenance period, however our teams will be working hard to get you up and running as soon as possible.

Additionally, the IP address of your service will remain the same - so you will not be required to make any changes.
